Do you believe in the power of the arts to transform lives?Alternative Synergy The Company (ASTC) is hiring visionary, high-energy Teaching Artists to join our in-school and afterschool programs across NYC. We’re not just teaching dance or media—we’re training youth to lead, heal, and express who they are. Our method fuses movement, storytelling, and media to support students from all backgrounds—especially immigrant, BIPOC, and under-resourced communities.
WHO WE’RE LOOKING FOR
We’re seeking artists who are passionate about mentorship, creative collaboration, and social impact:
Dancers — street styles, jazz, ballet, or contemporary
Actors — with teaching, movement, or devised theater experience
Video Editors — with a storytelling eye and youth-friendly tools
Directors/Leaders — who’ve guided productions, teams, or workshops
WHAT YOU’LL RECEIVE
All teaching artists receive paid training in our trauma-informed, equity-based pedagogy: multidisciplinary lesson planning (movement + storytelling + media), monthly creative development labs, practice in our Signature ASTC Method™—where emotion, movement, and leadership meet, access to collaborative rehearsals, workshops, and special events

Compensation & Logistics
Rate: $50–$85/hour (based on experience)
