Alternative Synergy The Company (ASTC) is seeking a movement-based teaching artist for a paid, in-school performing arts residency running February through early June 2026.

This role supports weekly classes focused on movement for performance, acting support, and embodied creative learning for diverse student populations, including bilingual and neurodiverse learners.

This is not a dance technique or musical theatre role.

Movement is used as a tool to support acting craft, presence, regulation, and expressive clarity.

• Lead weekly movement-based or performance-support classes
  
  

• Support students in developing physical confidence, focus, and expressive agency
  
  

• Collaborate with ASTC leadership on curriculum and classroom structure
  
  

• Participate in monthly paid alignment meetings
  
  

• Work within trauma-informed, adaptive teaching frameworks

This opportunity is well suited for artists who:

• Have experience in contemporary, street, or hybrid movement practices
  
  

• Are interested in teaching and facilitation (not just performing)
  
  

• Are open to structure, collaboration, and ongoing learning
  
  

• Are interested in working with diverse and multilingual student populations
  
  

Alignment, reliability, and curiosity matter most.

• $85/hour teaching rate (ASTC standard)
  
  

• Additional paid preparation and alignment meetings
